‘A Gift from God’.

© by Doug Crick. Jan.23rd 2007.

I can't remember poetry

Not even those I write

I've written many hundreds

When God gives me the 'light'

The words just flow from in me

The stories that I tell

Are given as a gift to me

They're clear as a bell

There must be a good reason

Why God allows me this

I write as He dictates to me

To rhyme, not one to miss

I was never  taught to do this

God gave it as a gift

So I could show to others

Their spirits then to lift

To make God's words so easy

For others then to learn

I put it down in poetry

To help their thoughts to turn

Away from worldly pleasures

To think what God has planned

For those who listen to Him

And of the promised land

A place beyond description

Where pain and tears don't dwell

Where love alone is shown there

That's what I try to tell

So when you read my poems

You know that God guides me

He lets me write them to you

So you can then be free

Free to live in Heaven

Where sin is not allowed

Please listen to God's offer

And join His ransomed crowd.

'His Return.'

© by Doug Crick. Feb.14th. 1999.

When is our Saviour returning ?

It's way past the time that He should

I'm sure He's as anxious as we are

He'd be back, right now, if He could

But you see, my dear friend, there's a problem

Before He can come back for me

His plan of redemption is not known

To everyone here, don't you see

Myself and others just like me

Must tell all the world of His plan

Not hold back this message, to anyone

Then tell, as many, as we can

Then once, all the world hears His message

Whether they believe it or not

Then He will return, as He promised

Unbelievers, to get their due lot.

So don't wait until it's to late friend

Let me tell you the whole history

Of how Jesus died, just to save us

On that hill, that they call Calvary

It won't take long, I assure you

To let me tell, of His plan today

That will save us all from destruction

Let, me tell you, please, while I may

For if I'm called, er' you hear me

You might never get such a chance

So do yourself, a great favour

Give your Bible, much more, than a glance.

 Contradiction ?

© by Doug Crick June 12th. 2007.

I still don’t have the answers

To all the questions yet

Though I am in my last days

In knowledge, still in debt

I’m way behind in paying

For sins I did before

I found the words of Jesus

Then I did them no more

We all are classed as sinners

And all are born that way

But have the chance of heaven

If sins are cast away

I don’t know much about you

Or what you’ve knew before

You found the truth in Jesus

And then to sin no more

I sometimes hear the comment

That the Bible contradicts

Itself so many times that

The stories just don’t mix

But let me ask you this friend

Name me where these are

I haven’t found a single case

To back these claims so far

They say they heard it somewhere

But can’t remember where

Or take time to check it

Perhaps they didn’t care

It is an excuse, not read then

To confirm it in God’s book

For there they will find the answers

If only they would look

The Bible does not contradict

Of this we can rely

It’s people who quote out of text

That fabricate this lie

I don’t know all the answers

But this I know is true

That Jesus died to save us

Yes me! and also you

But there is a single clause first

There’s something you must do

Before you can go to heaven

And life on earth is through

It’s all there in the Bible

To start, see John chapter three

Verse three and five and seven

It’s plain for all to see

If you don’t want to do  that

Of this I know, to tell

For then you’ll go with Satan

To a place we know as ????

‘Don’t Be Afraid’ !

© by Doug Crick. Aug. 14th. 2007

When I was young and quite afraid

Of being in the dark alone

It’s something most of us have done

I’m not here friend, to moan

The fear of the unknown

Is one we all must face

To share your fears with others

Is not a big disgrace

And so it is with dying

Something we all must do

Can I tell you a story

To help you see it through

I’m sure you’ve heard of Heaven

And Hell as well some time

Most are based on history

But some are just a crime

The crime I mean is ignorance

Why some don’t know what’s true

And what are lies they harbour

Perhaps might be you to

Instead of finding out then

If what was wrong or right

They live their lives in darkness

The fear of death to fight

When it can be so simple

The truth is there for all

If they would only seek out

And listen to His call

The call of course from Jesus

He knocks on every door

But you must let Him in then

To live forever more

No more you’ll be in darkness

He’ll share with you the light

To take you through your life then

And help you with your fight

The prize of course is heaven

Where all can go one day

If only they will follow

With Jesus, with Him stay

It’s all there in the Bible

For anyone to see

Take my word then look friend

The truth will set you free

No longer scared of darkness

Or of those things unknown

For you will be set free then

The seeds of truth then sown.

For Those who Deny

© by Doug Crick June 20th. 2007.

For those who deny Heaven

And even Hell as well

Will have a startling discovery

For this I’d like to tell

To those who have the notion

Of no life after death

That they will just be dust then

After their final breath

But what if God’s Holy Bible

Is telling us all the way

About this place called heaven

And with Him we will stay

If only we will listen

To what His Son did say

When on this earth to tell us

About the only way

To be with God the Father

Of everyone on earth

We all came down through Adam

So see what it is worth

To be there altogether

Once more as brothers all

To live and pray together

Behind God’s Kingdom wall

This city filled with laughter

Of those who listened to

The words that Jesus told us

And what we all must do

To be in God’s great city

With streets all paved with gold

It’s all spelled out in the Bible

By men of God we’re told

It’s come down through the ages

Protected from what may

The words are there for everyone

If attention they will pay

The way to get to heaven

The goal of everyone

Some will not admit it

They say they want more fun

Then some will even deny it

Like it is said before

They just won’t listen to Him

He’s knocking at their door

The Bible used that expression

To illustrate a point

The door that they refer to

Is your heart, He will anoint

And once you’ve let Him enter

He’ll guide you from that day

On how to live beside Him

Listen to His way

Then you can go heaven

God’s Kingdom calls you in

Then those who denied heaven

Will never ever win.

‘For Those Who Want the Truth Now’ !

© by Doug Crick August 7th. 2007.

Sometimes I write the words down

That others like to hear

Then other times I write them

With words that cause them fear

Because I say the truth then

Of what the Bible show

And goes against their teachings

Of what they thought they know

I don’t excuse myself now

The reasons very clear

I write these words by guidance

Their not from me, don’t fear

The words I write are truthful

God has made me write

The truths that all should know now

To set their knowledge right

So many others preaching

Words not of the truth

My task is very simple

Show them all, the proof

Starting with the story

Of Noah and the Ark

Show them in God’s Bible

That they’ve been in the dark

Then show them of the Sabbath

The seventh day of God’s rest

That Saturday is still God’s Sabbath

It will stand every test

I know what you’ve been taught friend

But God wants you to know

The truths that I can show you

In knowledge you will grow

And when you leave this life then

You’ll know where you will go

Not where you have been told before

But things that I will show

Can change your life forever

If you will listen to

The truth from out the Bible

You then learn something new

This is the task I have now

Until the day I die

To show as many of you

That you’ve been taught a lie

I know it comes as shocking

To think you’ve been deceived

About the Bible stories

You always have believed

The stories still are there friend

They just do not agree

With what I’m sure were told you

And what is told by me

I have not long to live now

But God has told me this

Tell as many as I can

So they, the truth won’t miss

For they will know the truth then

And share with family

Before it is to late then

To know what sets them free

So listen what I tell you

Be sure that it is true

From out of God’s own Bible

He left for me and you.

Forever to Be.

© by Doug Crick.July 11th. 2007.

Will I meet you up in heaven

When our days on earth are through

For we’ll be there for eternity

With lots of things to do

We could renew our friendship

So many things to say

When we will meet again there

On that resurrection day

I wonder who else will be there

Not many, I surmise

Because they failed to listen

When shown before their eyes

That Jesus died to save us

And showed us all that day

On how to get to heaven

There is no other way

One day He will return then

To take us all with Him

Back to His heavenly kingdom

Where friendships never dim

Forever you’ll remember

The promises we made

To meet again in heaven

Our friendship never fade.
